Book Indexer, Editor, Author,
Journalist, Writer Coach
Steve has been a writer/editor at three newspapers and two magazines, including Editor-in-Chief of The Christian & Missionary Alliance’s Alliance Life and Associate Editor of Focus on the Family’s Citizen magazine. At Citizen he won the 2005 Award of Excellence from the Evangelical Press Association for his review of the movie Kinsey. His work with both magazines took him overseas on assignment to approximately three dozen different countries.
Besides publishing six books of his own in the Christian market, Steve has ghost written three other books and worked directly on book projects with name authors like Alistair Begg and Joseph Stowell. As a student of Coach University, he has coached several other authors in getting published for the first time.
Steve has also worn other chapeaus in his varied career, including associate pastor of a small Southern Baptist church and for a time as a fully licensed financial advisor for two large investment firms. Since retiring from those positions, he has devoted himself to service as a church elder in charge of adult education and as an officer of the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District Board of Directors.
He is currently founder and owner of Adams Book Cottage, a freelance provider of editorial services to book publishers, especially in the market niche of back-of-the-book indexing—a surprisingly rigorous art/science. He is a graduate of the University of California (Berkeley) extension program for book indexing. His latest project was indexing There Is No Such Thing as a Typical Librarian by first-timer Steven Antonuccio, to be released in May 2019. The publisher, Rhyolite Press, commented that the index made a “good” book into a “great” book.
Steve lives in beautiful Colorado Springs with his nurse wife, Mary Jane. One of their favorite activities is as instrumentalists—guitar, mandolin, violin—on their church’s worship team.
