A native of Columbia, Tennessee, Rebecca graduated from Lipscomb University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching and from Middle Tennessee State University with a Master of Arts in English. Having served as a freelance proofreader, copyeditor, and writer for Harper Collins (Thomas Nelson) since December 2009, Rebecca has experience with a variety of genres.
As a freelance proofread and editor, Rebecca specializes in young adult fiction, children’s literature, religious studies, non-fiction (biographies and inspirational), and academic literature. Rebecca has served as copyeditor for several successful published works, such as Believe Devotional: What I Believe. Who I Am Becoming (2015), Evangelicals Around the World: A Global Handbook for the

She has proofread many Bible texts and Biblical-based literature, including The Four Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership: The Power of Leading from Your Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength (2015); The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible, NKJV (2015); Living the Braveheart Life (2015); Daystar’s Unlocking Heaven’s Power (2015); All You Want to Know About the Bible in Popo Culture: Finding Our Creator in Superheroes, Prince Charming, and Other Modern Marvels (2015); Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary: New and Enhanced Edition, NKJV (ebook, app, and hardcopy) (2014); New Spirit-Filled Life Bible: Kingdom Equipping through the Power of the Word, NIV (2014); Compass: The Study Bible for Navigating Your Life, the Voice (2014); Sisters in Faith Holy Bible, KJV (2013); Ignite: The Bible for Teens, NKJV (2013); and The Woman’s Study Bible, NIV (2013). Additionally, Rebecca edited Fred A. Manske’s book Core Strategy for Success, which was published in 2011. Having taken a research specific and bibliography graduate course, Rebecca is practiced, skilled, and knowledgeable in regards to the Modern Language Association (MLA), American Psychological Association (APA), and Chicago styles.
Rebecca contributed writings for the American Woman’s Bible (2015), focusing on the lives of extraordinary women, both past and present, and how they shaped America’s history. Rebecca’s writing has been published by Lifeway’s Collegiate magazine, Lifeway’s Threads publication, the School Improvement Network, Lipscomb University’s literary magazine Exordium, and WhatsUpLU publication. She has also served as Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville’s newsletter editor and communication committee member and has won writing contests sponsored by the Great Smoky Mountains Association and Rand McNally. During Rebecca’s graduate coursework, she focused in eighteenth-century literature and religious studies – writing and defending her thesis “Religion in Sarah Scott’s Millenium Hall and The History of Sir George Ellison” – and studied Latin for reading and content knowledge. Rebecca has presented at the Tennessee Philological Association conference and is a member of the South Central Modern Language Association.
