Helen Hosier

Book Critic, Editor,

Proofreader, Writer

Helen’s love for and knowledge of books and Christian literature spans a lifetime of work as a Christian bookstore founder/owner in southern California and as a seasoned author with more than sixty books authored, co-authored, or ghosted.

This bookstore-owner-turned-author is well-known in the field of Christian communications. Her experience includes acquisitions editor at Thomas Nelson Publishers and working with individuals and ministries to develop their books, newsletters, and material to enhance and promote their work. Helen’s expertise is regarded by many as helping them convey biblical principles with conviction through their writing, and her editing helped them become published.

Of herself, Helen says, “God entrusted this gift to me, and I have used it for Him in accordance with Colossians 3:23, 24b (NKJ): ‘And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men . . . for you serve the Lord Christ.’”

Two of her books have attained best-seller status: Cameos: Women Fashioned by God (Tyndale House), and 100 Christian Women Who Changed the 20th Century (Revell). Her knowledge of the book industry, acquired through hard work and careful attention to what works and meets publishing standards, will work for your benefit.

Helen lives in a 119-year-old Victorian home in the quaint northern California community of Winters. She enjoys her grandchildren and three great-grandchildren living nearby, and she is mentoring a granddaughter who has a passion for writing.
