Hannah Maxwell

Copy Editor, Proofreader,

Writer

Hannah Maxwell is an editor and writer residing in Nashville, Tennessee. An avid reader and passionate storyteller, Hannah studied English at Lipscomb University, where she enjoyed several editorial internships and developed her sharp eye for identifying ineffective and disorganized communication. Through her studies in composition and rhetoric, Hannah gained a deeper appreciation for the craft of writing, the power of language, and the mechanics behind a clear, consistent message.

Upon graduating from Lipscomb, Hannah focused her attention on the non-profit sector. She devoted the next four years to creating donor engagement pieces and composing grant applications, generating over $1 million in

successful funding. However, she found herself missing the collaborative process of refining written works. In 2019, she decided to step away from her career in non-profit development to focus on building her career in book publishing and editing.

To date, Hannah’s experience includes conducting proofreading and copy editing services for non-fiction and academic trade books, including university-level textbooks. She enjoys working with spiritual and self-help books, devotionals and memoirs, and she looks forward to expanding her editorial services to include contemporary fiction, young adult and children’s books. As an editor, Hannah enjoys working alongside authors to bring their vision to life, and she ensures that every work entrusted to her is returned grammatically accurate and stylistically consistent. She is particularly conscientious about upholding the author’s personal voice during the editorial process.

When she’s not working, Hannah enjoys reading environmental non-fiction and nature poetry, spending time in the Word, working on her own poetry collection, and backpacking, rock climbing, and travelling with her husband. With every new title that lands on her bookshelf, Hannah is inspired by the power of storytelling to unite diverse audiences and encourage readers to continue learning, growing, and living authentically. She is excited to help her fellow writers fulfill their dreams for their written work!
