Kristin has been a story-lover since she was young, enjoying every opportunity to max-out the local library’s limit of ten books per checkout. This fostered her love for reading, writing, learning, and teaching. As a student at the University of Idaho, high scores on grammar and other tests through the student employment office earned her the opportunity to copyedit an engineering manual for the university’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 1994.
Kristin went on to study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she graduated in 2000 with an M.A. in Ministry-Based Evangelism. Her favorite courses included Systematic Theology 1 & 2, Hermeneutics (biblical interpretation), and Old Testament Survey, all of which tapped into her love for contemplative thought, especially on God and his Word. The same year, she graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with an M.S. in Social Work. Both degree programs cultivated writing skills and opportunities for proofreading/editing, as other students sought her help with essay assignments.
She now uses her writing and editing skills to serve a diverse client base in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and beyond, where she owns/operates Spring Tutoring, Writing, and Editing Services (www.kristinspann02.wix.com/spring1). Projects have included line editing, copyediting, and proofreading books and web content, as well as business, ministry, and personal documents. She has also written biblical poetry for commercial purposes. Kristin loves helping clients achieve their goals and personally grow as she serves them. She has special interest in biblical, theological, and fictional fantasy projects, but enjoys meeting a wide variety of client needs.
On a personal level, Kristin is currently writing a fictional fantasy book akin to The Chronicles of Narnia. She regularly posts to her Christian blog, “The Word Works,” on her business site (www.kristinspann02.wix.com/spring1/blog), and comprehensively edits stories of lives transformed by Christ for her church. Her interests include movies, painting, dancing, singing, and being on the water.
