Ann Byle has been writing in and about the Christian publishing industry for 20 years as an author and reporter. She writes for a variety of national and local magazines, and is author or co-author of several books including the 2018 release Christian Publishing 101.
She has interviewed and written articles on hundreds of Christian authors including T.D. Jakes, Lysa TerKeurst, Joel Osteen, Beth Moore, Jen Hatmaker, Jerry Jenkins, Francine Rivers, and many others.
Ann began her career writing marketing copy for Moody Publishers, then was a copyeditor and book review editor for The Grand Rapids Press. Then, after two years writing marketing copy for Our Daily Bread Ministries, Ann began her freelance career. She is author of The Baker Book House Story and Christian Publishing 101, and has co-written with surfer Bethany Hamilton, gang-banger turned hip-hop pastor Troy Evans, and Bethany Christian Services director Bill Blacquiere.
She is an expert at finding the news nugget to create great press releases, and the real story to create great articles and feature stories. She was also a literary agent for five years and knows her way around a book proposal.
Ann is cofounder of the Breathe Christian Writers Conference and the Fiction Readers Summit. She and her husband, a high school science teacher, have four young adult children, one dog, two cats, and three chickens. When not writing, she’s reading, thrifting, or puzzling.
